Exuma, Bahamas

I’m so excited to share our experience on the magical little island of Great Exuma!  We picked Exuma for two reasons: 1. There is a direct 2.5 hour flight from Charlotte and 2. I wanted to swim with the pigs!  If you’re looking for a non-touristy destination, Exuma is for you.  It is the epitome of authentic and unspoiled. Exuma is a district of the Bahamas, which consists of over 365 islands, also called cays.  The largest of the cays is Great Exuma, which is 37 miles long and joined to another island, Little Exuma, by a small bridge. Let Me Count The Ways…

Happy Valentine’s Day!!  Truthfully, Valentine’s ain’t my thang, what about y’all??  I feel like it puts pressure on couples and makes singles feel bad.  Lance and I have never done anything for Valentine’s Day and the tradition continues this year considering he’s in DC for work.  I asked him on Tuesday if he knew tomorrow was Valentine’s Day and he said no, he thought it was the 8th.  So there you go. I thought it would be fun in honor of Valentine’s Day to take a trip down memory lane and tell you a little about Lance and my love story.  If you are totally uninterested, it’s definitely worth scrolling through some of these old pics (that are mostly embarrassing […]

A Weekend in Naples

Happy Monday!  Worst Monday of the year, am I right??  The Monday after the Superbowl is always so hard.  And let me tell you…I went from 30 days of vegan to EATING EVERYTHING for the past few days, so needless to say I feel pretty terrible.  Oh, and one night at dinner my girlfriend and I EACH had a bottle of rosé, so that happened.  It’s been fun, but it’s ending tomorrow!  I’m going back off cheese (for the most part), cutting back on wine again, and if you read my last vegan post (HERE), I’m cutting back on carbs and concentrating on whole foods.  I’ve GREATLY enjoyed my break, but I am looking forward to eating clean again! I […]

Our Trip to Iceland

I am SO excited to share our adventure in Iceland with you! Lance and I have traveled a ton, and I can honestly say that Iceland was like nowhere else we have ever been.  It truly is spectacular.  The people are friendly, the capital city Reykjavík is quaint, walkable, and adorable, the food is delicious, and the landscape of Iceland is like nothing I have ever seen.  I am SO glad that we went in the winter.  Even though the days are shorter, I loved that it snowed on and off the whole time we were there and everything was covered in a blanket of white.  They have 24 hours of daylight in the summer, so I would love to […]
