Sunshine Gingham

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a nice weekend.  Mine was SUPER chill, I virtually did nothing and loved it (I feel like I say that every week).  I did go to the lake on Saturday and visited my grandma on Sunday with my family, but other than that I laid low and was in bed by 10 PM all weekend. The older I get, the more I realize what a complicated holiday Mother’s Day is.  Last year I unexpectedly got really sad on Mother’s Day.  I don’t want to have children, but at times I feel like a failure for making that choice.  On Mother’s Day it can be especially hard.  I read a blog post first thing on […]

My Favorite Spring Sweater

Happy Friday!  Have you had a good week??  I was at market in Atlanta finishing up my fall buy.  I don’t know if I have mentioned it before, but I don’t love the styles coming out for fall.  I LOVE this spring, but fall is VERY 70’s (think rust, mustard, stripes, wide wale corduroy, etc.) and I’m not into it!  There are tons of cute sweaters though, so I’m excited about that. One Shirt, Two Ways

Happy Monday!  Did everyone have a good weekend?  Mine was SO low key, I loved it.  The older I get, the more of a homebody and less social I become.  There is not much I love more than just chilling at home in my sweats with a glass of wine (and probably a puzzle) #thisis37.  I literally didn’t leave the house on Saturday!  I did super boring stuff like cleaned out my bathroom drawers, the pantry (we had cans of soda that expired in 2014 lol), and switched my closet from fall to spring (which always turns into purging, so I’m taking another load of stuff to JT Posh soon!). A couple life updates… I’m still going strong on the […]

White Bean Chicken Chili Recipe

This past weekend, we entered a chili cook off contest.  Correction: Lance entered us (read: me) into the contest.  Friends of ours were putting it on for charity, and if you read my New Year’s post, you saw that my number one goal this coming year is to give back more.  So even though I was out of town all week, and I’ve never cooked anything in bulk before in my life…we entered a chili cook off LOL. We had no intention in winning…we just wanted to bring some good chili.  My favorite chili is a chicken chili that I make often, and I thought it would break up all the tomato based beef chilis.  It is really delicious, especially […]
