My Guest Bedroom

Happy Friday babes!  I wanted to share my guest room with you today.  I love this room so much, it’s actually one of my favorite rooms in the house.  Funny story: when we moved into this house, we got new master bedroom furniture and we moved our old furniture into the guest room.  It was IKEA furniture, and I love IKEA, but this was the worst dark, fake wood (see HERE).  So Lance (like most men I assume) is like, ‘we have bedroom furniture, we don’t need anything new for the guest bedroom.’  Eye roll.  So I decided I was going to redo our guest room myself and on a budget.  Let me show you what I did! Best Coffee Table Books

I love a coffee table book.  Anyone else??  They are so nice to give as a gift and make a great decorating tool around the house.  I’m not into a lot of clutter, but I have always like the look of a stack of books, and I love that they are actually functional!  I have a bunch, so I wanted to share my favorites.  Click on any of the images to shop.       I have both Domino books.  They are the BEST decorating books and will give you so much inspiration.  They are also gorgeous, so perfect to stack on your coffee table.     Both of these books were gifts, perfect for someone who loves to travel! Minted Art

I remember years ago after I had been living on my own for a while, I splurged on two original oil paintings.  They were gorgeous.  Fast forward 5 years…I wanted to change my decor, the colors didn’t go, and I was just kind of over them.  I ended up giving them to my mom and they look great in her dining room, and I was happy I was able to give her something so nice (considering all she has done for me over the years).  This taught me a valuable lesson: original (AKA expensive) art just isn’t for me.  Now, I get that people love it, and I used to want my whole house full of original art.  But what […]
