Pantry Redo

I have been in a MAJOR spring cleaning mode this year and one of the first things I tackled was our pantry. I feel like I might have missed my calling in life…LOL. Watch out Marie Kondo!

My pantry turned out amazing, exactly as I envisioned, and we’ve been living with it for several months and it still looks exactly the same! Having bins that you can corral things into is KEY in keeping it looking neat. Here is how I did it and links to everything I used (the images below are all clickable). Just remember, when you’re organizing, it ALWAYS gets worse before it gets better!

One. The first thing I did was hop on Pinterest and search “Pantry,’ to get some inspiration. This is how I figured out what I wanted my pantry to look like, and where I got organization ideas (like can holders and lazy Susans). For my pantry, I wanted a mix of white and natural wood/baskets.

Two. I took EVERYTHING out of the pantry. I threw out everything that was expired (which was a TON). I grouped everything that was left into categories. This is how I figured out how many bins, jars, etc. I would need. I also took measurements of all my shelves and put them in a note in my phone so I could reference them at the store.

Three. I headed to the stores (plural). I knew going into this I would need to go to several stores and it would probably take a few trips to get everything I needed (which it did). I started at Walmart (where I got can holders), then I went to Target (where I got the white bins, glass canisters, and lazy Susans), and my last stop was The Container Store (for baskets and bin labels). I intentionally started at the most reasonable store (Walmart) and ended at the most expensive (The Container Store). Between the three, I found exactly what I was looking for.

Four. I wiped down the entire empty pantry and started putting it back together. This step definitely took some trial and error to figure out the best way to organize things, plus a few more trips to the store to either exchange things or buy some more supplies.

Five. Once everything was back in the pantry, I went on Etsy and ordered custom labels for my bin clips. I am obsessed with them, they seriously make all the difference in the world!

Here is what I used:

I knew I wanted some natural baskets in the mix. These baskets were a little bit of a splurge, but I love the look and couldn’t find anything else as good. I love that they come in a ton of different shapes and sizes (I got two different sizes for my pantry).

White bins:

I ended up with two different styles of white bins. I love the look of the metal baskets, but I also wanted something bigger so I would have a place to just shove a bunch of stuff. These huge white baskets from Target are PERFECT: they are lightweight and flexible, so they are great to just stuff full of all the random stuff you have left over. One of mine has paper plates and cups, etc. in it, another has vases, and one has our protein powders (which are too big for any of the other baskets).

Can holder:

Hands down the best way to organize cans.

Lazy Susan:

This is probably my favorite part of the pantry. I use these for all my oils, vinegars, sauces, cans that are too big for the can holder, and anything else that is left over. They make everything so easy to see and super easy to access.

I love the modern look of these canisters and the mix of wood and glass.

Napkin holder:

Bin clips:

If you’re going to hide everything in baskets, you definitely need to label them (even though Lance STILL asks where stuff is). These bin label clips are the BEST!

I love these so much. I knew I wouldn’t be happy with my handwriting. These come in all different sizes and colors and fonts (I used font 6, black). It makes me so happy how everything looks totally uniform.

I think that sums it up! Do you love it as much as I do?! Thanks for reading!
