House Inspo: Living

Happy Friday! It SNOWED here this week and I was in heaven!! We don’t get snow often here, so when we do it makes me super happy. I walked the dogs (they love the snow), took a bunch of pics, and went sledding with my brother. It was SO FUN.
I thought I would share some more design elements for our new house! This week: paint colors, some living room inspiration, and furniture that I’m eyeing.
This is one of the hardest decisions, but I feel like I did the research for the house we’re in, made choices and have lived with them, so now I know what I want! I’m pretty simple when it comes to paint: I want everything white. Of course…who knew there are SO many whites?? Our current house interior is Benjamin Moore Decorator’s White, and it’s the perfect crisp, clean white. If you’re looking for a true, bright white, this is the one. Having lived with it, I’ve decided I like it better as a trim or cabinet color (it is also our exterior trim color; more on that in a minute). In the new house, I’m going with Benjamin Moore White Dove on ALL the walls and trim. I’m not even going to paint a sample on the wall; I’ve seen it in enough spaces, and I know I love it. I want a softer white for the new house and White Dove is exactly that without being too yellow. For the exterior, I am going with either Benjamin Moore China White or Benjamin Moore Classic Grey. I have found that with the exterior, since it gets so much bright light, something that doesn’t look white in the bucket looks REALLY white outside. Decorator’s White outside is almost blinding. I definitely want something softer since we are painting the entire exterior white (with dark steel grey accents).
If you’re looking for a grey or taupe, I have Gray Owl in my current bedroom (it’s the perfect grey in my opinion) and we have Revere Pewter in a couple rooms (which is Benjamin Moore’s most popular color). It’s a great neutral taupe that reads more grey than brown.
I’m also going to have some dark accents. I am most likely going to paint our garage door a darker color, so I’m still searching for the perfect one. I really like Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron and Onyx.
I love these bathroom cabinets painted Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron. I really love everything about this bathroom!
Living Room Inspo
I have mentioned before, but I want a very neutral vibe in the new house with lots of tan, white, and pops of wood and green from plants (faux only, I’ve given up!).
Another house that has been a HUGE inspiration is Jenni Kayne’s home (also pictured above).
I loved her house when we built our current house in 2014, and I STILL love it! How cool is that concrete fireplace?! I’m obsessed. I love that she has no mantle or art over the fireplace so that the fireplace becomes the focus. You can see a full house tour HERE.
Turns out she has moved and this is her new space…which I love even more. It’s simple, clean, and bright and I love the pops of leather, wood, and the green from the fiddle leaf fig.
Of course, everything Amber Interiors does is absolute perfection!
I love these pillows, the art, and the color of these open shelves.
Furniture and such
Speaking of plants, I just ordered a BIG faux fiddle leaf fig tree, and I am SO excited. I have killed TWO huge fiddle leaf figs, so the cost of this faux one is less than what I have spent on real ones that are now dead and gone.
We have a Moroccan rug in our living room now and I love it. It’s really shaggy, so I want a new one for the new house that’s a little less shaggy. Lulu & Georgia has THE BEST selection of rugs in a range of prices.
Here are some of my favorites, scroll through to see them all and click on any of the images to shop!
I’m going to do new barstools and I love this saddle leather.
I want a new sectional in a lighter, linen-type fabric. I love the look and size of this one.
I love this huge, round, natural coffee table. Everything in that picture is gorgeous, isn’t it??
That’s all I’ve got for now. Thanks for reading!
