Turkey Soup Recipe + Ulta Buys + $50 Mom Jeans
Happy FRIDAYYYY!! Who’s excited it’s the weekend?! ME. Haha. I thought I would share a recipe I made this past week plus what I picked up from Ulta!
This turkey soup I made was SO yummy for how simple and easy it was. This was a recipe born out of, ‘we just got back into town and have no food, what can I scrounge up from the freezer??’ I keep ground turkey frozen at all times, and I had these carrot spirals frozen from Trader Joes, so that seemed like a good place to start. I had actually planned to make meatballs to put in the soup, but I got lazy, so this is what I ended up doing!
Turkey Vegetable Soup
1 large onion, chopped
Half of a full head of celery, chopped (I like to chop the entire head of celery from the top so that I get all the leafy parts in my soup, too)
2 cloves garlic
1 T olive oil
4 cups water
1 vegetable bouillon cube (I like Rapunzel brand)
1 package carrot spirals
21 Season Salute (Trader Joes)
Sauté garlic, onion, and celery in olive oil over medium for 5 minutes. Add ground turkey to the pot and cook until cooked through, about 10 minutes. Add water, bouillon, and carrot spirals. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 5 minutes. Finish with fresh ground pepper and a dash of 21 Season Salute.
I served mine with a 1/4 cup scoop of rice and it was SO good and filling. It is the perfect soup for this fall weather and great to pack for lunch the next day. I think white beans would be delicious in place of the rice, too.
I received a 20% off coupon from Ulta that had basically no restrictions, which is SO rare! So of course I went and spent an hour in there trying to decide what I ‘need.’ Haha.
I have been using Bare Minerals Warm Bronzer, but going into the winter, it feels a little too dark on my skin. I picked up Nars Bronzer in Laguna and it’s the perfect lighter bronzer for winter. I also love that it’s in a compact, so it’s great for travel.
I restocked my favorite self tanner because WINTER haha. I hate being pale. I like using the Dark Mousse by St. Tropez. It’s a lot of color, but very natural looking and goes on easily.
I have been using Bare Minerals foundation for a while (the powder mineral foundation), but I was looking for a little more coverage, so I thought I would give this CC cream a try. Here is what they say about it:
‘Developed with plastic surgeons, CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ is your anti-aging, hydrating formula infused with high-performance brightening, color-correcting and nourishing ingredients including hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and vitamins A, B, C and E.’
Um, yeah, so I’m sold! So far, so good, I have been liking it a lot. I bought the color Medium.
It Cosmetics also makes great brushes. I wanted to update my contour bronzer brush, and I wanted a brush to apply the new CC cream. You can shop the It Cosmetics brushes HERE.
I wanted a powder to finish the CC cream with, and I heard that the L’Oréal True Match powder is really good, so for $10.99 + 20% off, I’m giving it a go. It’s working great as a finishing powder, but can be built up for more coverage, too. I got color W6…which might be a little dark, but I am one that prefers to go on a little darker on my face rather than lighter! I also start with THIS bronzing primer, so that helps!
I definitely wanted more at Ulta (and I could seriously spend all day in there), but I cut it off with that!
I don’t know about you, but I love the Mom Jean trend. Look, I know it’s not the most attractive style for my body type, but they are so comfortable that I kinda can’t pass them up. If you’ve wanted to try it out but not invest too much, these jeans from American Eagle are the way to go! They are just $50 and come in lengths, which is great because I’m not tall. They are also a really lightweight denim, so even though they don’t have stretch, they are super comfortable. I’m wearing a size 4 Short here…they are a little big in my waist, but really comfy through my thighs.

Have a great weekend!
